The brief
Where it started.
Three weeks, five regions, two travellers — and a spreadsheet that didn't work on a train. We wanted one shared place for the itinerary, stays, transit, costs and checklists that still works without signal.
What we built
So we shipped 5 pieces.
- 01Trip homeCountdown, weather and a 'before you fly' gaps list
- 02Day plansRegion and day screens with activities, checklists and transit journeys
- 03Shared editingRealtime sync between two accounts with bottom-sheet editors
- 04Works offlineA local cache and a write outbox; installable as an app
- 05MoneyBudget and expenses, split between travellers
Under the hood
The part worth a closer look.
The clever part
Japanese fonts are self-hosted and subset to about 205 KB instead of 10–20 MB — and a separate demo build swaps in a fictional trip so real plans never ship in a promo.
Stack
And what it all runs on.
