The brief
Where it started.
The charitable arm of a local men's hockey league funds causes across Markham and Unionville. Its old site showed two-year-old content and a broken "$0 raised" counter. The committee needed a fast, mobile-first site they could keep up to date without a developer.
What we built
So we shipped 5 pieces.
- 0113+ public pagesCauses, campaigns, events, news, gallery, get-involved and donate
- 02Volunteer-editable contentSupabase with row-level security and cached loaders
- 03WordPress migrationA re-runnable import of every old post, event and photo album
- 04No broken links301 redirects for every legacy URL — the build fails if one is missing
- 05Automated QAAccessibility and SEO checks on every route at desktop and phone sizes
Under the hood
The part worth a closer look.
The clever part
Where data is missing, the site shows honest interim states — hiding goal-less progress bars instead of faking numbers — so it never repeats the old "$0 raised" problem.
Stack
And what it all runs on.
- Next.js 16
- React 19
- Supabase
- Tailwind v4
- Playwright + axe
